Saturday Outing!

What a busy day we had on Saturday. We left the Bible School at 6:30 a.m. Our destinations were the Pieniny National Park, a visit to the Stara Lobovna Castle along with the Open Air Museum, and dinner at an outside restaurant in the high mountains.

After a 3 hour ride through some beautiful scenery of lakes, rivers, villages and mountains, we arrived at the castle perched high on the side of the hill. It was a long hike up to the entrance of the castle but well worth the walk! This castle was built in the early 1300’s and was occupied as late as the mid-1940’s. We were also treated to a falconry show inside the castle walls which was very impressive.

We next visited the Open Air Museum where there were many historical buildings on display, set out on hills with the castle in the background. It was a beautiful setting to see how it must have been many years ago.

After lunch we went to the boat dock in the Pieniny National Forest and boarded wooden flat bottom rafts for a two hour raft ride down the river that divides Slovakia and Poland. What beautiful country this is; some gentle rapids, some smooth water, and some wonderful guides to carry us safely down-stream.

Our day ended with a delicious open air dinner along the river. What a wonderful day to spend in the beautiful place where God has called us to share His word with these wonderful people. I feel so blessed to be here with this team, with these students, and with the Bible School Staff
doing this work. Thanks be to God.

With Love, Sharron
