Dobry den! Hello!
During the last few months, we have had a few planning meetings in preparation for the mission trip. We have spent time getting to know one another better, have team devotionals, learn some of the teaching English games and activities we will lead with the students, discuss the English curriculum, plan the children's curriculum, go over the building projects to be completed, review logistical matters, and build team unity and vision. Three of the meetings were held at St. John's in Arroyo Grande, and one was beautifully hosted in Fresno.
Our team of 24 Christian men and women are from six congregations and will perform various duties while in Martin, Slovakia.
17 members: tutor English as a second language (beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels)
3 members: work with the young children of the Slovaks who are in the tutoring program
4 members: assist in remodeling the Christian elementary school and middle school buildings to be ready for use during Fall 2010
